A computer with internet access is going to be one of the most important investments of your own business in your home office, and you should make sure it's a computer with plenty of memory, storage space, and speed. A fax machine is a good idea, and having a phone line for your business is a must. Not everyone enjoys working with emails and a telephone conversation can often get negotiations settled more quickly. Beyond that, a good desk, a filing cabinet, and a comfortable chair are basically all that's needed for your home office.

What types of businesses are there and which is best for me :-

There are only a handful of basic types of businesses. The first is a sole proprietorship, where you and you alone own the business. You'll have all the decision-making power and you'll reap all the profits. A partnership resembles a sole proprietorship, only the business responsibilities are split between two or more people with equal power. Finally, there's the corporation, which is a business that is a separate legal entity on its own, at least financially. Your assets are protected, but there are tighter restrictions on the managing of a corporation and limited financial options.

What kind of marketing strategies and promotion ideas are there for a new own business :-

Your promotional possibilities are only limited by your creativity. Of course, there are traditional methods of marketing, such as by using company letterhead for correspondence and giving out business cards to as many people as possible. There is also advertising in local newspapers, but you can take that one step further and use radio or television advertisement as well. Social networking can be effective for marketing, and using the internet to promote your company through blog posts also works well. Lastly, use plenty of word of mouth, as that's the best way to get people talking about your business!

Forex Trading - How to Read Forex Quotes

If you are new to the world of trading, forex quotes can be pretty confusing. However, it takes just a little know-how, to read them.

What does a foreign exchange quote look like? Look at the following example:

EUR/USD = 1.2526

The above formula shows the foreign exchange rate between the euro and the US dollar.

Remember that in any forex quote, two currencies will always be present. This is because with forex trading, you are buying one currency as you sell another currency.

The first currency listed in a foreign exchange quote is called the "base currency." The second currency in the formula is the "quote currency." Therefore, forex quotes show us the relationship between prices for the two currencies in the quote.

The exchange rate is made up by showing how many units of the quote currency you have to pay in order to buy one unit of the base currency.

The euro is the base currency, above, and US dollars are the quote currency. The quote shows how each currency trades relative to the other. If you want to buy one euro unit, therefore, you will have to sell 1.2526 US dollar units.

Next is the "bid/ask" spread. The bid/ask spread is the alternative to broker commissions in the forein exhange market. Brokers get paid for their work via the bid/ask spread.

With the bid/ask spread added to the above example, it looks like this:

EUR/USD = 1.2526/1.2528

Simplified, it looks like this:

EUR/USD = 1.2526/8

Brokers make their money when they sell currencies for slightly more than they buy them. This is legal and every broker does it. However, the spread can differ significantly between brokers.

When you trade forex, you buy at the bid price, the first price in the above example. You then sell at the ask price, which is the second price quoted. The difference between those two prices is called a "spread;" this is what the broker makes as his or her profit on the trade.

In the above example, you've bought at 1.2526 and sold at 1.2528. The 0.0002, or two pips, goes to the broker as payment for executing the trade. When you look at it this way, you can see that the bid/ask spread is relatively simple and straightforward; it is a relatively easy way to calculate trading fees and expenses.

A new research report from an English university charted the lives of 1,050 American and European pop music artists from 1965 to 2005, and found they are two to three times more likely to die young than the general population. In all, 100 stars died "too young" between 1956 and 2005, amounting to almost ten percent of famous male rockers and more than seven percent of famous female rockers. And according to the report, published in Britain's Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health this week, a quarter of all the musician's deaths were due to alcohol or drug abuse lives that might have been saved if the artists had reached for drug rehab instead of for more booze and drugs.

The remainder of the early deaths were attributed to high levels of stress, depression and risk-taking behavior, which led to a wide variety of fatal events from accidents to diseases to suicides. American rock stars died at an average age of 42, while European stars averaged even younger deaths at 35. The report doesn't say, and it probably can never be known, how many of these apparent non-drug-or-alcohol-related events such as suicide or preventable accidents might have been avoided if alcohol and drug rehab had been factored into the equation.

The good news for aging rockers especially for Europeans, says the report is that after 25 years, death rates began to return to normal. A European star still living 25 years after achieving fame had a similar mortality rate as the European public. But American artists remained more susceptible to cancer, heart disease and other conditions associated with the stress of fame and living in the fast lane. Apparently such activities as performing in later years in nostalgic and reunion tours or stressing about one's fading glory takes a greater toll on U.S. musicians, who continue to die in greater numbers.

Immigrants set record with more to come

AS Australia celebrates the population meter ticking over to 21 million, a record immigration figure for a financial year is expected to escalate the population boom.

A spokeswoman for Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews said the projected target of up to 148,000 new immigrants for 2006-07 would be met once the figures were tallied.

It represents one of the greatest immigration influxes in decades. Aided by a rising number of births, Australia is experiencing a rise in population numbers not seen since the two most significant boom periods, after World War II and in the 1980s.

The secretary of the Department of Immigration, Andrew Metcalfe, had already hailed the previous year's growth as a record.

In the department's annual report, he commended the outcome for 2005-06 of 143,000 new migrants as "the largest migration program for several decades".

This year's intake and projections for coming years suggest the increase will continue. The Government is aiming to accept 152,800 new migrants in 2007-08, a far cry from the low immigration stance it adopted on coming to power in 1996.

Camping With Or Without A Remote Control In The Great Outdoors

While on a recent camping trip, I was outside my tent looking up at the brilliant stars in the night sky. The sound of hummingbirds had faded with the last light of the sun and was replaced with crickets cheering wind blown pine needles racing across the dirt to a final resting place. In the past, my evening's entertainment in the wild included a gathering of rabbits, a deer or two, maybe even a coyote howling in the distance, but now I had additional choices of entertainment. Or even try to play name that tune with the rhythm and hum of a generator behind me in spot number seventy-two.

How did camping change for so many of us over the years? It has become a different world in the wild and getting harder to determine what type of campground you are headed to until you have your stakes in the ground. RV's are popular, and are changing the landscape of the wilderness. Whether you are a snow bird, a retiree or just a wanderer, they are great. They provide a home away from home and are still cheaper than motels. You may pay more in gas, but less in lodging and you are in the great outdoors along with your tv, stereo, shower and other accessories.

Years ago, campgrounds had more tent sites and a minority number of RV sites here and there. The scale is shifting and it's becoming more common to have a locale with 80 RV sites and 10 tent-only sites. More and more places don't allow tents at all. On a recent trip, I found tent sites that were overgrown with weeds while the RV sites were getting ruts from all the wheels rolling heavy loads over their spaces. One beautiful newly built state campground had closed down in less than a year because the water at the boat launch was too low. Brand new bathrooms, solar panels and picnic tables sat unused except by spiders. They were gated and blocked off in a paradise to the solace seeker instead of charging less money for a different kind of camper? One without a boat or jet ski.

When researching online for campgrounds, the lines of distinction are blurred if not lost. You may find RV Parks and hope they have a couple of tent sites off to the side of the pull throughs. You may find a cheap or even free campground at the end of a washboard road and hope that it can accommodate your wheel base. But many times you are in for a surprise as the sun goes down and you are a road coffee shy of alternatives. No matter the extent of research, things are different when you get in the wild. Forest and Park services suffer from budget cuts and their condition knowledge and maintenance is not always up to date. You may find varying classes of fees whether you have a rv, use hookups or just pound stakes. Many parks charge full price whether or not you need hookups and water.

Many state and national parks are cramming more spaces into smaller areas and charging more for them, some near $35 in 2007. You may pay a fee closer to a cheap motel and get less space to yourself. It may not be all wide open spaces. In a RV, you can close the windows. Out in your sleeping bag, you may feel like the person snoring in the space next door has rolled into your tent.

If you love camping, you need to keep getting out there in whatever way you may choose. It's just getting harder to get away from it all.

What is Scalp Psoriasis?

Scalp psoriasis is a skin disease that may cause itchy patches of thick, red skin with silvery scales. It can range from mild, with only light scaling to severe, with thick, crusted scales covering the whole scalp. The large flaky scales can be very uncomfortable and can itch quite painfully. Severe cases of scalp psoriasis can also lead to temporary hair loss which can be very distressing, but the good news is that the hair will grow back once the flare up calms down. The scalp is one of the most common affected area in psoriatic patients as 79% of them have scalp involvement.

How to know the difference between scalp psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis?

Scalp psoriasis is sometimes confused with other skin disorders, such as seborrheic dermatitis. Both are common skin disorders and share some similar symptoms such as itchy, red, scaly skin. But although they may look similar, there are differences. Scalp psoriasis scales appear powdery with a silvery sheen, while seborrheic dermatitis scales often appear yellowish and greasy.

Scalp Psoriasis Treatment

Many treatment options can help control scalp psoriasis and its symptoms. Sometimes this type of psoriasis will clear on its own, other times it can remain on the scalp for long periods of time. Although it is not dangerous and life threatening, it can be persistent and difficult to treat.

The treatment of scalp psoriasis requires a different approach because it is more difficult to treat. Not that this type of psoriasis is more stubborn, but the hair gets in the way of treatment. The key of shampoo treatments is to loosen and remove scales, while providing as much moisture as possible.

A few things to keep in mind when using shampoo to treat scalp psoriasis: Firstly, be gentle when treating the scalp. Scratching the affected areas should be avoided, because breaking of the skin can make psoriasis worse. Be sure to use special medicated shampoos as directed. It is important to rub the shampoo into the scalp and not just the hair.

More severe cases of scalp psoriasis may require a stronger treatment, which can be achieved through topical applications that are left on the scalp or from administration of UVB light therapy.

Scalp psoriasis is a chronic condition and while it can't be completely cured, it can be controlled with the proper treatment.

Do aim to find your look and work on it. It is such fun discovering what you look and feel good in, how people perceive you and how you want to appear. The odd shocker is great to have in your wardrobe, but only for the right occasion. So also the classic ultimate suit or sherwani, dress, salwar or saree for that special occasion.

Make sure you can look casual on a picnic, confident at an interview, sporty at a match, comfortable on a journey (ever notice how people dress for a journey like they are attending a wedding?)Well, you get the picture.
