Flying Down-Under

Have you got the traveller's itch? You know, that mild but persistent irritation perpetual tourists suffer from, accompanying staying in the same place for too long. Australia, with its plethora of natural beauty and man-made attractions, is like a siren song to many a wonderer. Alternatively, perhaps, you are related to one of the many Brits that has chosen a life in the sun and simply want to visit them. Whatever the lure, while Australia is indeed a fantastic place for a holiday, it is not exactly a stone's throw away and flight prices certainly reflect this fact.

A flight from London Heathrow to Sydney and back will cover 33698 kilometres. For a ticket in July, British summer - Australian winter, you will pay anything from 1245.90 (Air New Zealand) to 888.47 (China Eastern Airlines). Around 228.90 of the latter fare is made up of taxes and fees. In these modern times where environment issues loom large, it may also interest you to know that each person making a return trip between the UK and Australia produces an estimated 3.71 tonnes of carbon dioxide, which, as a greenhouse gas, is a chief cause of global warming.

Well, that's the doom and gloom of exorbitant fees and environmental concerns out the way; you have decided that you want to go - what about getting a good deal on your flight? Shop around. Then shop around some more. There really are great deals available, saving you hundreds of pounds, especially if you are not too concerned about which airline you fly with, excessive travel time or stopping over in another country along the way; some find this simply adds to the excitement of their holiday. Having said that, a direct journey to Australia is wearisome enough alone, taking about 25 hours, without the additional hassle of spending a night in the uncomfortable airport of a city you hardly knew existed. However, contemplate this; a 3 hour stop over could save you around 270, which works out at 90/hour - a respectable hourly wage by anyone's standards.

This is all very well and good but shopping around for bargains takes time and time is money. No fear. The online world is now filled to bursting with time-saving price comparison sites. Simply enter where you wish to fly from and to, along with the dates that you wish to travel and hey presto, you are presented with a range of ticket prices from different operators. Pure-Australia.co.uk is just one good example of a site providing such a service.

Now, time for my final parting tip, if you really wish to save money why not try travelling from one of the smaller airports such as Birmingham? Inexplicably flights from this location are often cheaper than from Heathrow or even Gatwick. Perhaps it is because of reduced demand for long-haul flights in this region, whatever the reason, cash-in if you can.

Good luck finding a great deal and most of all, once you are there, be sure to have the time of your life.

Dirty Little Secret of Workers Compensation Insurance

Workers Compensation Insurance agents are paid commission based on the size of your company premium. The bigger the premium you pay the bigger your agent's commission. Your agent may never cause your premium to go up unnecessarily but has he done everything he can to reduce it and reduce his commission?

The first workers compensation law was enacted in the United States in 1911 by the State of Wisconsin. By 1948, every state had some form of "workman's comp." Basically this is a government mandated social insurance pact between employers and employees. Employers are forced to cover medical care and provide wage replacement for employees hurt on the job: in return workers compensation benefits becomes the only remedy available for workers. Even though courts have upheld this concept for almost one hundred years occasionally in cases of bad faith courts have over ridden this exclusive remedy.

Workers compensation is compulsory insurance in every state but Texas. With some few exceptions, all employers are mandated by law to carry workers compensation insurance.

Workers Compensation Insurance premium is calculated by how employees are classified by their specific work and the rate assigned to each employee classification.

Workers Compensation insurers attach a premium rate to each employee classification code. These rates must normally be approved by the state insurance regulatory agency in the state the policy is in effect in. Agency approval of the rate is based on numerous items. One of the items taken into account is adequacy of the rate. Rates must be adequate to maintain the financial condition of an insurance company. Adequate rates allow the insurance company to maintain surplus to meet current and future claims..

The classification code and its corresponding premium rate are part of the formula. The premium rate itself is expressed as dollars and cents per $100 dollars of payroll. The payroll for each classification code is estimated and then each $100 is multiplied by the rate. The calculated amount is the base premium. The base premium is then modified (change up or down) using rating plans and experience modification.

The experience modification is calculated from losses that the company has reported in the past.
The insurance company used a government-approved formula to calculate an experience modification for each employer. The formula looks at paid losses, reserves necessary for claim made and payroll amounts for the past three years (usually). The experience modification shows average loss experience of employers with similar classified employees and works as a way to compare employers. The experience modification is added to the class rate, along with any other modifications and an estimated premium rate is created. This is called prospective rating and is the most commonly utilized rate plan.

The total premium for a workers compensation insurance policy is not certain until the policy period is complete and all payroll has been reported.

Now you know how the rates are calculated what is the "Dirty Little Secret"? In thirty years of working with companies I have never gone into a company of any size and found that its employees are correctly classified. The classification process is many times as much of an art as it is a science. Different people can look at the same job and classify it differently sometimes with extremely different results to the premium. Many classification titles are very similar but with much different rates. There are many jobs that don't have a specific classification but have to be fitted into something that makes sense. If the insurance company decides the classification do you think it will be the best possible choice for the employers lowest premium?

If an employer is not only knowledgeable but also aggressive about classifications who is going to see to it that they are the lowest possible premium rates. The insurance company makes more money out of higher premium rate classifications. The risk to the insurance company does not rise if the employee is misclassify into a classification that commands a premium rate of say $10.13 per $100 of payroll as say a rate of $1.01 per $100 of payroll. The insurance company just makes ten times as much revenue. If there is a claim it will be paid at the same amount regardless of what the premium was.

The insurance agent that supposedly has the employer's interest at heart makes ten times the commission if an employee is misrated as in the paragraph above. Is he going to take his time, energy and effort to deliberately cut his commissions by suggesting rate changes over his company's objection?

If as an employer you don't have an intimate knowledge of classification and ratings you need to either get the knowledge or hire someone who has it. You can't trust your agent to be objective about this. You are talking about taking money out of his pocket and out of the pocket of people that pay him. You don't pay him the insurance company does. It pays him a commission on what he sells you. Not necessarily on what you need. Your agent may be doing a bang up job but wouldn't you like to be sure?

O.C. Actress Lands the Cover of Elle UK

Since her character was killed off at the end of the penultimate season of The O.C., Mischa Barton has strung up several big screen projects due to be released in the last quarter of this year. Among her upcoming movies are Closing the Ring, Virgin Territory, Dont Fade Away and St. Trinians. She is also scheduled to appear in Finding t.A.T.u., Malice in Sunderland and Assassination of a High School President.

The former O.C. star is also the cover model for the August issue of Elle in the United Kingdom. The magazine also features an article on Bartons rise to popularity, reported party girl persona and relations to Hollywood bad girls like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.

"It is a persona. It's not me. I think, 'Who the hell is that girl?' I'm so low-key and chilled. But the media has created a fake 'Young Hollywood' where everyone hangs out together and everybody knows each other. It couldn't be further from the truth. I feel so, so different from those girls," Mischa Barton told Elle magazine.

The 21-year old actress also confessed to struggling with fame when she was catapulted to stardom after being cast on The O.C. at the tender age of 17.

"When I got there I didnt know anything about the business, and you dont make the best of friends. You make a few mistakes when youre that age and it took me a while to find the friends I needed, to be truly comfortableFame isnt that exciting to me. I dont think its something to be fighting for. I want a career. I dont get that thing of standing outside a famous restaurant, waiting to be photographed. I cant do that. Ive found a very happy place - I know what I want to do, and Im excited about the projects Im developing. Thats what Im trying to concentrate on," Barton continued.

Mischa Barton is clearly dead set on becoming a serious actress and not a mere celebrity. She is currently busy with her Shakespeare studies at the Royal Academy for Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.

Wireless Microphones: No Longer Shall The Singer Be Tied!

Gone are the days when the person on the stage was ruled by the cable coming out of his microphone. Whether it was TV shows or live stage performances, the presenters and performers were very restricted in their movements. Pitiful was the situation of those rather lively singers, who had to stay around the microphone stuck on the stand or had to check their movements, kicks and flips to avoid getting tangled in the cable spread across the floor. Entered the wireless microphone and solved all the problems of these restless souls.

The wireless microphone is a very intelligent innovation. It is, basically, a smaller version of the FM radio broadcasting system. The person speaks in a microphone, connected to a transmitter, which transmits these signals as radio frequency waves. An FM receiver somewhere picks up these waves, converts them back in to audio signal and we listen to it through the speakers. The powerful the transmitter and receiver, the better the quality at our end.

There are different types of these microphones available in the market these days suitable to different needs.

The Hand held microphone: This is the commonly used microphone for TV shows or by singers. It has the transmitter, battery, antenna and the mic, all fitted inside the housing.

The Lavalier microphone: This term is now broadly used for any microphone that is worn on the body, be it hidden or visible. These mics are used for stage performances and are used extensively on TV during talk shows. These microphones have a separate body pack transmitter, which is normally a small box that can be kept in the pocket or clipped to the belt.

The Head-worn microphone: This is a gift from heaven for singers and dancers. This microphone can be worn on the head almost like a headphone and has the mic attached to one end. The transmitter is carried in a body pack separately with this type of microphone as well.

The range of these mics depends on the antenna present, either in the casing of the mic or attached to the body pack. The rang of a wireless mic normally is around 300 meters but with obstruction present it can go down to around 70 meters or less. Once the signal is transmitted, it needs to be received by a receiver. In the beginning there used to be many issues related to interference and poor reception with the wireless microphones. These days though the problem has been almost eliminated. To receive a signal without facing the issue of fading, losing the signal or getting interference, the receivers have two, rather than one antennas, one of which will be a ground antenna. This eliminates the chances of fading and dropouts, and is termed as true diversity in the wireless microphone world.

Receivers with a single antenna are non-diverse, as when the signal fades or drops out, it just drops out and you wait for things to get better. At the end of the day, the performance of a wireless microphone is a combination of the quality of the mic, transmitter and the receiver. One thing is for sure though, the technology has made life a lot easier for our performing artists; imagine the kind of feats Elvis could have performed if we had given him a wireless or better still, a head-worn microphone!!!

Austria More Than A Winter Destination

When I think of Austria, the first thing that comes to my mind is the Austrian Alps. Maybe just about everyone knows that Austria is one of the best places to go during the winter. It has countless winter resorts with amazing surroundings, perfect ski tracks suitable for all ages and difficulties and many more sport facilities in case you are not into skiing. For the tired skier or just for everyone who would like to relax and have fun, there are many suitable places to do it from big swimming pools to hot bath-tubs and restaurants with specialties from around the world.

But if you think that Austria is only for the winter think again!
If you prefer taking a holiday especially for skiing, you can do so even in the summer with the help of the gorgeous Austrian glaciers. One of the most famous glaciers is the one in the Stubai Valley the Stubai Glacier. It is visible even from the road and can be a remarkable view even for non-skiers. Other perfect places for skiing in the summer are the Kaprun Glacier and Pasterze Glacier, which unfortunately is decreasing in size in the last years. And if you are keen on the big things than the largest glacier in Austria is for you the Hintertux glacier.

In Austria there are also magnificent hiking trails, revealing a huge part of the country beauties. A beautiful place is Zell am See with its Hohe Tauern mountain range, the Zeller Lake and its belonging marked trails, suitable for both beginners and experts. There is also available biking, sailing and more. I am not going to give more examples of hiking trails because they are numerous in almost every resort in Austria and they surely bring the atmosphere of the amazing nature there.

If you are a nature lover I can recommend here only a small fraction of the many nature reserves in Austria. One of them is located just north of the city Innsbruck the Karwendel nature reserve. The Karwendel mountain range is part of the Alps and can reveal many breath-taking types of scenery. Another one is the Prgschachener Moor Nature Reserve which is in Styria, near Irdning / Ennstal and offers wonderful moments in fresh air. One can also visit the National Park Nockberge part of the oldest mountain regions in Austria.
Of course as far as culture is concerned the capitol Vienna is simply outstanding!

No matter where you are from, keep in mind while planning your holiday that nature is always perfect in every season. And I can assure you that one of the best places to go and see it is Austria. Whether you like skiing, hiking, looking from the top of a high mountain or just relaxing under the sun on the bank of a lake it is all there just for you.

Steroids: The Drugs Derived From Testosterone

The Medical Science uses the term steroids for any of numerous naturally occurring or synthetic fat-soluble organic compounds having as a basis 17 carbon atoms arranged in four rings and including the sterols and bile acids, adrenocortical and sex hormones, certain natural drugs such as digitalis compounds, and the precursors of certain vitamins.

There are over hundreds of distinct steroids that have been identified in plants, animals, and fungi, but of course, this article of course is about the class of synthetic hormones that promote the storage of protein and the growth of tissue are known as steroids. Steroids in fact, are the chemical compounds that include numerous hormones affecting the development and growth of sex organs. Steroids are also known as sex hormone or steroid hormone.

The steroids that are used as performance enhancing drugs are anabolic steroids. Anabolic steroids are the compounds that are derived from testosterone, a potent androgenic hormone produced chiefly by the testes; it is responsible for the development of male secondary sex characteristics.

Anabolic steroids promote tissue growth and repair. There is wide range of anabolic steroids available on the market. Some of the available steroids include nandrolone, oxandrolone, oxymetholone, and stanzolol. These drugs have different labels, but their contents and salts are similar and these can be use interchangeably.

Medically, anabolic steroids are used for the treatment of a number of conditions, such as; catabolic states like chronic infections, extensive surgery, burns, or severe trauma; anemia associated with renal insufficiency, sickle cell anemia, aplastic anemia, and bone marrow failure; angioedema; and growth failure, including the short stature associated with Turner's syndrome.

Anabolic steroids should not be administered to young children because these drugs may cause an early end to the growth of long bones, which results in short stature. These steroids have masculinizing properties, thus should be used with great care in girls. These steroids have a number of side effects. They have been associated with liver cancer and psychological effects, such as contributing to rage attacks. Anabolic steroids are often improperly used by body builders and other athletes, and thus these steroids are controlled substances under United States federal law.

Should You Consider Retiring Abroad?

When it comes to retiring, often many people find themselves stuck for ideas on what they can spend their time doing. You spend so much of your life working and being away from home that when it finally comes to it, being at home full time can often be a little boring. There is nothing new to do and taking up a hobby such as gardening is not always everyone's idea of a good time. That is when the option of retiring abroad should be considered.

Why Think of Retiring Abroad?

By retiring abroad you are getting to see an entirely different country. It marks the start of a new adventure instead of symbolising the end of an old one. There really is nothing better than waking up to a brand new life and so retiring abroad is certainly something you should at least think about. So just how hard is it and how much would you need to retire abroad?

Getting to know everything about the country you plan on moving to is absolutely essential if you want to plan everything properly. You should not just simply choose a random place and then jet off without knowing anything about it; otherwise you could end up hating your new life. So do some thorough research and then decide upon where you want to relocate to, based upon your needs and wants.

Once you know where exactly it is that you want to go, then you should focus upon how much it will cost you to move out there. Do some more research based upon the house prices in the area you will be moving to. Then either get a State pension forecast or if you have a personal pension you will be able to see an estimation of how much you have saved and how much you will receive once you retire on your monthly statements. That will help you to estimate how much more you need to save if anything, before you can afford to retire and live your dream of moving abroad.

Generally there should be nothing stopping you from retiring abroad, but it is always a good idea to check that your pension allows it. The State pension allows you to move anywhere that you want to and you can still get your money once you retire. However some private pensions may not agree to giving you the money if you are retiring abroad so do ensure that your pension allows you to move abroad and still receive a payout.

Achieving The Perfect Golf Swing

To hit the ball, the club is swung at the motionless ball on the ground (or wherever it has come to rest) from a side stance. Many golf shots make the ball travel through the air (carry) and roll out for some more distance (roll).

Every shot is a compromise between length and precision, as long shots are generally less precise than short ones.

Obviously, a longer shot may result in a better score if it helps reduce the total number of strokes for a given hole, but the benefit may be more than outweighed by additional strokes or penalties if a ball is lost, out of bounds, or comes to rest on difficult ground.

Therefore, a skilled golfer must assess the quality of his or her shots in a particular situation in order to judge whether the possible benefits of aggressive play are worth the risks.

Here are some of the basic elements of the golf swing that the golfer should use as a mental checklist when taking a shot. The first thing is the alignment of the body toward the target.

Stand five to ten feet behind the ball, with the ball directly between your body and the desired target. Locate guidance targets on the ground (leaves, blades of grass, dirt, etc.) inches in front and behind the golf ball that should be on a direct line with where you are standing and the target.

Keep your eyes on those ground targets as you approach the ball.Align the clubface behind the ball, with the center of the clubface on a direct line between the two ground targets you have selected.
Grip the club with just enough tension to keep it from slipping in your hands throughout the course of the golf swing.

Align your feet on a parallel plain with your ground targets, shoulder width apart, and the knees slightly bent. The front foot should be pointed slightly outward, toward the target, to allow your hips to flow freely through the swing.

Tilt your torso slightly towards the ball while keeping your back straight. The arms should now hang freely in front of the body to grip the club. The shoulders should be parallel with the ground targets and the toes, and your head should be tilted downward with your eyes on the ball.

These motions described are known as the set-up, or addressing the ball.
You are ready to begin the golf swing. Keeping your back elbow tucked as closely to your ribs as possible, slowly take the club back on a straight line along the plain of the ground targets.

Keep your front elbow locked throughout the back swing and never take your eyes off the ball. This motion should naturally tuck your chin into your front shoulder.

Hips should remain still and slightly tilted, while the front knee will turn inward. At the apex of the back swing, allow your wrists to break slightly.
Bring the club downward toward the ball, uncoiling the wrists, and shifting your weight onto your front foot.

You should attempt to generate force and speed on your down swing, while never take the clubface off of the target line.

Upon making contact with the ball, the clubface should strike the ground as it moves through, taking a divot from the ground in the area past where the ball was lying, and through your second ground target.

Finish the golf swing with a nice, high follow through of the club. Your hips should be turned toward the target. Your weight should have shifted, and should now be firmly on your right foot. Smile and watch the ball fly toward the target.

Directory Service Delhi is your road map for the city

Delhi the capital of India is also called its heart. The city has a something to offer to everyone who decides to make it their home, even if for a short while. The old Delhi and the comparatively New Delhi with their meandering streets hide many such alleys and lanes which remain hidden from the public view but may perhaps contain the shop selling that antique chair that you have been looking for a very long time. The wide roads make all destinations seem easily approachable but once you are on the streets, you will be thankful for a road map. Inkjet Printers -- A Helpful Guide To Understanding This Technology

Inkjet printers are one of the most common and effective printing technologies on the market today. There are many variations on this design in use for both commercial and private needs, although models used in the private sector use the same basic design and technologies.

What Makes an Inkjet Printer Work

Although there are many versions of inkjet printers, they all share some basic methods. One of the basic methods that an inkjet printer utilizes is to propel miniature drops of ink out of their nozzles and onto blank paper in such a way as to form a pattern that will end up in an image. Normally, the part of the printer that holds these nozzles, called the print head, will move quickly across the paper, spraying ink. Then the paper will be moved a small distance, and the printer will travel over the paper once again. An image is formed from the small lines of ink.

Using An Inkjet Printer

When you first purchase a printer, you will need to hook it up to your computer. The majority of people use either a USB port or a parallel port, which should match up to the proper port on your computer. Once it is plugged in the printer will need to be synched up with the computer, however, most modern operating systems will either do this automatically or provide directions.

After the printer has been installed properly, it will then be able to print your documents and pictures from any program. Every so often you will need to replace the print cartridge when the old one runs out of ink. Because of the fact that these printer cartridges vary from printer to printer, you should keep in mind that you need to purchase the proper one to fit your model. Installation should be very easy and instructions should be included in the owner's manual.

Inkjet Printers Advantages and Disadvantages

Inkjet printers have various advantages over other printing technologies. Their functional operations are much cheaper and quieter, and they start up quicker than the majority of other printer technologies. The printers themselves are also often cheaper than other styles. The majority of them can output very high-quality images, where the majority of other printer technologies do not have this type of ability.

Unfortunately, inkjet printers often have trouble creating these higher quality images unless given specially treated paper, which is often costs more. The ink cartridges can also be very expensive, and are often incompatible with other printer models. The heads of an inkjet printer can sometimes be prone to clogging and flimsy as well.

In conclusion, due to the fact that inkjets use water-soluble ink, the output onto the paper has the potential to be smudged by even the smallest amount of water. The images have the potential to be blurred even by highlighter markers.

Kundalini Yoga Information | Benefits of Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini yoga is considered the most powerful form of yoga. Kundalini yoga comes from the Sanskrit word kundal, which means the lock of the hair from the beloved. The hair symbolizes the unlimited potential inside each individual.

Basic Idea behind Kundalini Yoga

In Kundalini Yoga the creating and sustaining Sakti of the entire body is in fact and truly united with Lord Siva. It uses asanas, pranayama, and mantra. It is based upon Kundalini energy which is ones dormant spiritual energy.

This energy is symbolized as a coiled up snake at the base of the spine, which is the first chakra. The energy is released through breathing, chanting, and movement in order that you can recognize your full potential.

It brings together the masculine and feminine powers of the body. The goal of Kundalini yoga is to move the Kundalini energy up through all seven chakras. When you reach the seventh chakra you experience enlightenment.
Benefits of Kundalini Yoga

* Balancing of emotions
* Strengthening of the nervous system
* Increases energy level
* Enlivens sense of awareness
* Encourages sense of peace
* Brings clarity to the mind
* Stress reduction
* Strengthens the immune system
* Increases lung capacity for better breathing
* Supports and encourages personal transformation and growth
* Orients consciousness to create happiness and health

Kundalini yoga is not only useful in strengthening the health and well-being of the physical body, but also very useful for emotional balance, stress relief, mental clarity, and personal transformation. Kundalini can be awakened by various means and these different methods are called by different names, viz., Raja Yoga, Hatha Yoga, etc.

Chakras

A yoga practitioner should know something about the spinal column, which is the location of five of the seven chakras, or energy centers to practice Kundalini yoga. We all know that the spinal column is part of the human nervous system, which also includes the brain and nerves.

These things jointly are responsible for our thought, imagination, memory, and intelligence. Five of the seven chakras are situated alongside the spinal column and the remaining two chakras are situated on the head one in the middle and one on the top.

A person can visualize the Kundalini energy traveling up the spine as he or she breathes. This energy begins and ends with that individual. It is the awakening of the self. Often a person will feel warmth along the chakras, when an individual awaken the Kundalini energy. Others have reported they feel a tingling sensation.

Kundalini yoga includes a set of postures and exercises that work on a particular area of the body, mind, and spirit. There are hundreds of these sets, which can be used to awaken a yoga practitioner to his or her full potential.

These postures deal with each aspect of human nature right from the issues of physical health to issues of mental health to general well being.

Yoga practitioner enters a state of deep relaxation often accompanied by spiritual music and sometimes a gong after the completion of the sets. Lastly, the yoga practitioner of kundalini yoga ends up with a breath or mantra meditation.

Building A Successful Rail Career

Professionals in the railway industry of the United Kingdom need to understand that their career path requires patience. Unlike sales or IT professionals, who are victors or victims to the whim of fickle markets, rail professionals gradually achieve success throughout their career. The railway is a consistent force in the UK economy, though it hasnt grown enough over the last two decades for any professionals to rise quickly through the ranks. Railway workers of all experience levels should build the right skills in order to succeed within the railway industry.

As mentioned earlier, patience is perhaps the best virtue for railway workers. Graduates who enter the railway need to work at a quick pace during the work day while demonstrating the ability to calm down when it comes to career advancement. More experienced professionals who are looking for improved financial incentives also need to exhibit patience, as railway companies often deliver these incentives over the long term.

In addition to patience, a successful railway worker has the ability to communicate with all of their co-workers. Engineers, ticket agents, and drivers all need to be able to communicate with their colleagues in order to keep the railway running on time. As well, communications is vital to maintain the health, safety, and consistent performance of everyone in the workplace. Young professionals can gain excellent communications skills by being proactive and seeking feedback from supervisors.

The technical qualifications for railway workers are apparent, as they would be unable to land their current positions without knowledge of trains. However, railway workers who want to build a successful career need to be curious about the future of the railway industry. For example, Engineers should not be content with their knowledge of current machinery but look to innovations in rail technology as part of their professional knowledge. This curiosity is ideal for railway workers because it demonstrates their interest in the long term success of the railway and prepares them for changes down the road.

Finally, a successful rail career is built upon the hard work of an individual worker. While it seems obvious to say that hard work is important on the rails, it is often overlooked by young professionals. In order to develop a strong work ethic, young workers should think about all of the people helped daily by their efforts. Ticket agents can take heart in knowing that they have helped a family find the best time to travel from one city to another while a driver can build a successful career after realizing that they are keeping thousands of passengers safe on a daily basis.

Speak English Clearly and Grammatically, and Boost your Success!

Of course you speak English - who doesn't? But how well do you speak this international language? Are you clear, concise and grammatically correct? Do people talk about you and the things you say? And are they talking for the right reasons?

It used to be that just speaking English (at any level) was enough to open the doors of opportunity, but times are quickly changing. Most recent estimates place speakers of English as a fluent second language or additional foreign language at over one billion.

It is no longer an advantage to speak English, but a requirement! Just speaking English isn't so impressive anymore - unless you speak it really well.

Many talented and competent professionals who are doing their best to speak good English are left behind. Many don't even realize why. How many times have you heard a colleague make the same mistake over and over again and never corrected him?

Perfecting the way you speak is challenging, but by applying these tips and tricks, you will ease communication, speed up your work flow and become a more effective business leader.

Speak Clearly

Since English is being used as a lingua franca by more and more non-native speakers, clarity should always be your first priority (whether English happens to be your native language or not). There are a number of things you can do to improve the clarity of your speech.

Slow down

We all speak too fast. It's a terrible habit! And the faster we speak, the more mumbled our speech becomes.

Slowing down the pace of your speech is vital in situations where visual communication is lacking, for example an international conference call. It is just as important however, while running a meeting or delivering a presentation.

Make sure everyone can follow what you are saying at all times. Otherwise, what's the point of saying it?

Enunciate

Colloquial speech is littered with signs of laziness. We drop word endings, run our words together and create sentences that never seem to end.

Sometimes it is too easy to take this style of speech into the boardroom.

Be sure to enunciate your words. Put a special focus on word endings such as 'ed' and 's' that act as grammatical markers.

If you leave the 'ed' off of a past tense verb (Our profits increase last year instead of 'increased') it sounds as though you are making a very basic mistake in English.

Your education, aptitude and credibility could be questioned.

Practice vowels & consonants

An additional challenge in English is that we have so many words that are identical except for the vowel.

Take this string of words for example: mat, met, mitt, mutt, mate, might and moot. Do they all sound different when you say them? They should!

Read the words in random order and have someone write down what they hear. Did they hear what you said? Create other lists of words like this to identify your problem sounds and practice, practice, practice!

Consonant sounds can be just as tricky. Be sure you differentiate between voiced and unvoiced sounds, for example, 'd' and 't.' The words 'said' and 'set' should sound different. You should be using your voice to make the 'd' sound, whereas the 't' sound only uses air.

You can create word pairs similar to the vowels above to practice these sounds and others like 'v' and 'f,' 'z' and 's,' 'b' and 'p,' and 'g' and 'k.'

Speak grammatically

For most, grammar lessons are thankfully a thing of the distance past. Although lessons usually weren't fun or interesting, there was a reason why we were drilled in English grammar.

Have you ever thought about what your grammar says about you?

Proper grammar signals a higher level of education, professionalism and, in many cases, success.

Breaking grammar rules can signal a lack of attention to detail, laziness and can be a general irritant and distraction for those who do observe grammar rules.

Not to mention the miscommunication that can happen in written correspondence like email. Think how much time is wasted clarifying the meaning of mails where the structure is so mangled that the message is lost.

If you feel like you never really learned grammar properly or think you might be making mistakes, but don't really understand why, seek out answers to your questions.

1. Ask a colleague whose language skills you admire to proof-read some of your written work. Ask them to be honest with you about your mistakes. If you're making the mistakes in your writing, you can assume that you are making the same mistakes (and then some) in your speech.

2. Have a grammar reference on hand at all times - right next to your English dictionary. Local book stores have plenty of references in the language and linguistics sections.

3. Enroll in a refresher course in English. The right teacher can make the subject interesting and enlightening. And speaking better English is definitely worth the investment! Your colleagues and clients will thank you!

Home Insurance: To Keep Your Dream Home a Reality

Owning a home is every individual's dream and sometimes it takes a lifetime to realise it. Every individual basically works towards achieving three things in life: food, clothing and shelter. The first two necessities are relatively easy to acquire and they are required by humans on a daily basis. But a home is a one-time investment, and owning one is a life's dream for some. Hence, it is imperative to ensure that your dream house is protected against any disaster or calamity. Home insurance is the easiest and the most popular way to protect your most cherished asset, your home, from any untoward incident.

Nature is becoming unpredictable with each passing day, with natural calamities and disasters striking unexpectedly, anywhere. No country has been spared the fury of Mother Nature. In the wake of her destruction, she leaves behind a trail of loss. Loss of life unfortunately cannot be compensated, but people can mitigate loss of property and dwelling by resorting to measures like home insurance.

A Home Insurance cover though cannot prevent disaster, but it can prepare a person for the damage and destruction caused in situations like floods, fire, cyclone, etc. These days, policies that cover damage to homes have diversified and even include clauses that cover things like robbery. This is because a home is not just limited to four walls and a roof. Its definition also includes all things that fill it up from inside. When a person builds a dream house, he not only invests in the physical frame of the home, but also puts in time, effort and money to decorate the interiors. Each item that decorates a house from inside gives it a distinct character and is equally dear to the owner.

The exteriors and interiors together make a complete home. A home insurance policy, though it cannot protect it from damage, will provide the owner enough resources and financial support to rebuild what is destroyed and regain what is lost easily.

cosmetic value of pearls and pearls jewelry

Do you know that wearing a pearl strand necklace for a long time may help avoid faucitis (sore throat) and hyperthyroidism? This is because long term exposure to pearls can make the human body system "cool down", so wearing a pearl strand may also ease the temper during menopause. Besides, because of the smooth nature of nacre and the elements containing in pearls, the area on your neck, where expose to your pearl necklace, may become very smooth and soft.

In fact, people started to use pearls for medical and cosmetic use as early as 2000 years ago.(More Pearls Knowledge) Pearls contain plenty of chemicals including calcium, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, magnesium, manganese, aluminum, iron, tungsten, zinc, lead, silver, gold, lithium, iodine, zirconium, selenium, etc. The hydrolysate of pearl powder contains all kinds of aminophenol, which are essential for the balance of human body system. Taking pearl powder regularly may enhance metabolism, as a result your skin would become smooth, and it can slow down the aging process.

However, not every person is safe to take pearl powder because some people can't handle the cold nature of pearls, so most people virtually wear pearl jewelry or use pearl powder as a facial mask. By both ways, effective elements in pearl powder can filter through human pores, be absorbed by deep tissue, and result in cosmetic improvements. Pearl powder facial mask is more efficient though. Below are some tips to make a pearl powder facial mask.

1. Pearl powder + fruits + milk
Method: Blend apple, cucumber and pear together, add 2 spoons of milk, 2 spoons of water and 0.3g pearl powder, mix well, then apply on the face, wash away in 15 minutes.

2. Pearl powder + milk + honey + egg white
Method: mix 3 spoons of milk, 1.5 spoons of honey, one egg white and 0.3g pearl powder. Apply on the face, wash away in 15 minutes.

3. Pearl powder + olive oil
Method: mix one spoon of olive oil and 0.15g pearl powder, apply around eyes for 15 minutes and clean it.

What truely is a martial art?

A martial art is identified as any skill that is usefull within warfare. The definition of martial means "military." So traditionally, a martial art is a military art. The first things that usually pop into your head when discussing modern fighting systems do you think leaping, kicking, punching, blocking, inverting elbows, twisting necks, throwing, and weapons combat. But also horsemanship, javelin throwing, archery, spear fighting, halberd fighting, wrestling, knife fighting, rifle, shotgun, and pistol shooting, demolitions, logistics, and battle strategy can all be classified within as the field of martial arts. Anything that a soldier might do in battle is a martial art.

By martial art usually it is meant aikido, arnis, boxing, capoeria, chow gar, choy la fut, hapkido, hsing'i, hun gar, jeet kune do, jow gar, judo, jujitsu, karate, kempo, kick boxing, krav maga, kung fu, pa kua, penjak silat, praying mantis, savate, shaolin, tae kwon do, tai chi, white crane, ving tsun, wu shu and more! As you can see the list is quite long and it is actually very promising how many combat arts systems there are and how many methods of self defense can be formulated.

The best style out there for you is the style that helps you achieve the product you have set for yourself, and that advances you to take your skills up a level. If that means full contact training, then you need styles that can give you that.

Often within a martial arts school it is taught that 'this style is the best system and it was created to beat all the others'. Of course every martial artist would have the viewpoint their style is the best because that is the style they have chosen to do, but in reality what they are saying is 'this is the best style for me as it suits myattitude and I like the teaching environment'.

There is a ongoing joke in the martial arts, that basically says when someone says theirs is the best style, what they really mean is "I study X". Have an open mind and open eyes, and you will find the style or styles that best fit your needs.

The changing of the arts

During the period of this history and development of the martial arts and all the combat systems of man our training tools have been instrumental in evolving and perfecting these fighting systems.

All the martial arts have been altered due to the function that mechanical devices play whether it be weapons, dojo mats, breaking boards or even the uniforms we wear - all these paraphanialia indentify the martial arts into their systems and style.

The main players in shaping our new martial arts would surely be the non-contemporary wooden dummy, ving tsun rings, iron palm ointments and even the system of using forms and karta have developed the martial arts into their current form.

Even today modern training tools are common and again the martial arts are evolving and growing with new training products such as the Wavemaster, the BOB training dummy, the Focus Master. All with a common idea, to create a well rounded combat system.

Ideally a martial arts solo training tool definately has to be workable for all and based on great background ideals and through constant drilling develop into sound physical application. The ideology and theory would have to take into account all the history of the combat technology of man and give this competition and street application.

Martialarm Combat arts Kung Fu is a total control system made up of scientific body weapons with unrivaled effectiveness in both attacks and defense. Formula Fighting allows a unrivaled set up for attack and defense - a much faster system of fighting than the conventional 'wait until they move response' defenses. Formula fighting correctly applied is so far above current combat systems technology to evolve into a martial science so to set new standards.

# The system includes:
# Smart error ideas and selective targeting
# Meridian points and internal shock strikes
# Multi-functional and military applications
# Broken Rhythm or plyometric applications
# Chi-Sau and automatic reflex systems
# Hidden weapons and clasifications
# One arm combat strategies
# Fire and forget formulas
# Inertia breaking
# Delivery zones
# etc

Martial Arts Modern Warfare

Chinese fighting systems especially are renowned for the wide variety of their hand techniques. Most Kung-Fu styles use a good variation of hand/arm weapons (such as claws, gouges, palms, backhands, punches, backfists, hammerfists, forearm, elbows and shoulder strikes) than their Japanese, Okinawan and Korean counter?parts.

In addition to the actual number of natural body weapons used there is also a tremendous range of different applic?ations due to the regionalised development of Kung Fu styles and the different approaches taken by hard or internal/external styles.

In this analogy, the legs are used as the body's heavy artillery, while the hands are the body's infantry. In a military en?counter, it is common to use first satelite technology to view the opponents attack and defense cababilities and then use long distance stealth artillery to soften up the enemy and to provide a moving cover behind which the infantry can advance to seize and hold disputed territory. Without the benefit of the artillery, the infantry would take heavy casual?ties.

However, artillery with nothing else cannot seize and hold territory - a major bom?bardment may drive the enemy out. So it is with arm and leg techniques - we often use our legs to soften up the opponent and to enable us to bridge the gap until we can close in and finish the fight with hand/arm techniques and the proper use and co-ordination of hand/arm and leg techniques is often crucial to success/ survival.

We espouse a combination approach which uses hand/leg attacks from different angles of attack and at various target levels. The concept is tomaintain a flow of offensive techniques moving into an opponent's target zones from different angles and at different levels, in order to disorientate him/her completely. We believe that this position is superior tactically to reliance upon one or two heavily committed techniques.

Martialarm Scientific Training For Speed

#1. Beginning of action

a. You must start in a positive delivery zone otherwise a negative zone can either injure your body parts or work against the intended action and become counter productive. (Newtons 1st law of motion)

b. Create an inertia breaker, a movement that will help you overcome the inertia (resistence to motion due to gravity and friction).

#2. Middle of action (Newtons 2nd Law)

a. After the inertia breaker you must continue the acceleration with a Booster. (Like a booster rocket, an extra aid, a second stager)

b. All body parts eg arms and legs, in any move be it a punch, block or kick, must always end up in a bent elbow or knee movement to enable a very quick change in any direction at any time.

#3. End of action

NOTE: 'End' of action should not be taken literally as one should never really stop action until the job is done. Our 'end action' has to be programmed to an interuppted continuity as if this stage is still the middle stage.

The Martialarm Combat Training Partner

In a martial arts career you can occationally get into a circumstance with no school to go to or no one to train with and so out of neccessity the martialarm solo training partner was manufactured out of an idea. The Martialarm is a Wu shu training machine used to develop the entry and trapping skills of any martial arts system. It is designed to put to the test any techniques so to improve the ability to trap and control your opponents hands and arms. This can be done because the Martialarm moves and reacts like a real opponent. The Martialarm moves and twists up, down, left and right just like a real opponent would - so it can spring forward and so will strike back!.

The Martialarm Combat Training Partner was tested and implemented on the following theories

Martialarm Theory

#1) Safety - You must maintain 100% safety when entering into the dangerous range, this means to limit any variables that could occur by covering them. (Ways of attack must be sophisticated yet simple, fast as well as safe!)

#2) Attack - You must have the ability to attack when you want, with no worry or problems. The attack should include a great handling of the opponents weapons. (Attacks must be structured to have within them a 100% defense!)

#3) The ability to change and - Techniques, attacks and defenses must flow but not necessarily at a constant pace. The ability to change and to choose what's next is very important!

Martialarm Martial Developement of Power

Most Chinese styles use a calm approach to power development. We try to keep unnecessary muscles from being involved in the technique, in order to avoid inhibiting the prime movers behind a certain technique from achieving its result. Essentially, a straight punch is a triceps-driven technique and the Chinese style of punching allows the triceps to do its job without the inhibition of significant biceps involvement in this punch.

Most other techniques can be viewed in a similar fashion - you have muscles which are vital to the effective execution of a technique and muscles which can be not, or which are even counter-productive when involved in that technique. No matter which martial arts style you do, try to avoid unnecessary muscle involvement.

Many Chinese styles use more "follow-through" in their techniques and achieve their power by driving the entire body weight through a target zone at speed. The arm is totally relaxed until contact is made and the body is still driving deeper into the target when attention is brought to the technique using a trigger.

The body has more inertia to overcome before it can move with the descending line of force and, as a result, the power is more completely absorbed by the body rather than being partially dissipated by the body moving more freely with the punch, as with a horizontal line of force.

Martialarm Combat systems Weapons

The Martialarm System uses quite a large array of natural body weapons, a few of them fairly specialised. The main ones are:

? Fist Strikes. (Sun Fist, Dragon Head, Phoenix Eye and Leopard Paw)

? Palm Strikes. (Tile Shattering, Yin/Yang, Wil?low Leaf and Hurricane Palm).

? Finger Strikes. (Flying Fingers, Immortal Pointing the Way, Twin Dragons, Tiger Claw, Eagle Claw, Dragon Claw, Rat Claw and Crab Claw).

? Back Fist Strike. (These tend to be follow?through rather than the 'snap' versions).

? Bottom Fist Strike. (Iron Hammer equates to the Japanese tettsui technique).

? Forearm Strikes. (This is used for smashing, sweeping blows of great power).

? Elbow Strikes. (This is generally used in a very flexible manner using multiple strikes).

? Shoulder Strikes. (Used for close-in work, of?ten to propel an opponent out into punch?ing range).

As you can see, there is an emphasis on tightly targetted use of a specialised hand formation in many cases. It is not enough merely to lash out in the hopes of an effective strike. In a ring situation, the "when in doubt, lash out" tactic may gain you points, but in the street it will be ineffective, unless you are lucky enough to impact on a vital point. A precise, surgi?cal strike or kick into one of your opponent's vital or weak targets is needed and your combinations definately has to be structured with this in mind.

Martialarm System Technological Achievements

1. Revolutionised Martial arts thinking and design of "Formula Fighting" or "Martial Arts by Numbers" that allows pre-emptive attack - a much faster system than the conventional "Reactionary Response" to attack.

2. Development and pioneered Martial Science - a system which enables practitioner of all styles to evaluate and modify current technologies to improve efficiency and allow comparisons with proof of technologies, concepts and technologies.

3. Developed the following technologies -

a. Sightless combat
b. Smart weapons systems
c. Stealth weapons systems
d. Fire-and-forget systems
e. Broken rhythm energy
f. Plyometrics applications
g. U.F.O. motions
h. Counter error programs
i. Convert errors into attack
j. Selective automatic targetting

The Three Cs - Capability - Control - Confidence

Certainty in containing the opponent by a huge technological edge and a super tough body and mind.

1. Capabilities - Current fighting systems technologies have been transcended by great handling in that it is a martial science based on completely prooven concepts.

2. Control - Allows great handling of the opponents capabilities making him defensively impotent. Multi functional applications in everyday life as well as in self defense.

3. Confidence - The small, the unco-ordinated, the disabled and also the best and brightest will gain in self belief through this training.

Martial arm Martial Science Offers

Attack systems that cant be blocked. A shield that cant be breached. Body toughening, Formula fighting, Stealth and U.F.O weapons including the Nukes. Mind freeze technology that shuts the opponent down. 3Cs Capabilities and Control bring about Confidence.

Martial arm Martial Science Concepts

1. Traditional Fighting systems - Animal styles or based on kata and ritualised.

2. Acclectic Martial systems - Collection of what works for the individual into a new style.

3. Designer Martial arts - Only the usable of conscious mind, scientific and repeatable.

Similarities to Bruce Lee Jeet Kune Do

Simultaneous parrying & striking

When standing up to an incoming attack; the attack is parried or deflected and a counter attack is delivered at the same time. Not as advanced as a stop hit but more effective than blocking and counter attacking in order. This is also practiced by some Chinese martial arts.

Economy of motion

JKD students are told to waste no time or movement. When it comes to combat JKD practitioners believe the easiest things work best.

Be like water

Lee believed that martial systems should be as flexible as possible. He time and time again used water as an analogy to describe why flexibility is a desired trait in martial arts. Water is absolutely flexible. It can be seen through, but yet at other times it can obscure things from sight. It can split and go around things, rejoining on the other side, or it can crash through things. It can erode the hardest rocks by gently lapping away at them or it can flow past the tiniest pebble. Lee believed that a martial system should have these behaviours. JKD students reject traditional systems of training, fighting styles and the Confucian guidance used in traditional kung fu schools because of this lack of flexibility. JKD is is often said to be a dynamic concept that is forever changing, thus being extremely flexible. "Absorb what is useful; Disregard that which is useless" is an often quoted Bruce Lee maxim. JKD students are encouraged to study every form of combat available. This is believed to expand one's knowledge of other fighting systems; to both add to one's arsenal as well as to know how to defend against such tactics.

Stop hits / stop kicks

This means deflecting an opponent's attack with an attack of your own instead of a simple block. JKD students believe that this is the most difficult defensive skill to develop. This strategic plan can be a feature of some traditional Chinese martial arts.

No high kicks

JKD practitioners conclude they should mark their kicks to their opponent's shins, knees, thighs, and mid section. These targets are the closest to the foot, provide more stability and are more difficult to defend against. However, as with all other JKD principles nothing is "written in stone". If a open area presents itself; even a target above the waist one could take advantage of the situation without feeling burdened by this principle.

Counting our way out of anxiety

Mathematics is still one of the most challenging subjects faced by ordinary grade school and high school students. It is not uncommon to hear of students who flunk at math not just for because the subject is hard to learn, but also because they are afflicted with what is now called by teachers as --- math anxiety.

Math anxiety is referred to as an intense feeling of helplessness or frustration about one's ability (or lack of it) to accomplish mathematical tasks or solve mathematical problems. Some who have this academic malady claimed that their minds suddenly go blank and they feel terrified once they look at a mathematical question or test. Many have proclaimed their sworn hate for the subject and have simply resigned to what they consider to be fact --- that they cannot learn to do math.

But what does make math difficult, or at least, different? According to math teachers, their subject of expertise is unlike other courses or subjects taught in school for the following reasons:

1. Math involves the study of various processes. In other subjects, you learn and understand the material without necessarily having to apply it. In math, you have to learn the lessons or processes such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and then, you have to move on to a workbook, apply those lessons, and solve math problems.

2. Math is considered to be a linear learning process where one such process is taught and used today, and is used as part of the lessons of the following day, and so forth. Teachers say that when you study history, you can learn chapter 6 even without passing through some of the previous chapters. You can skip some parts of history and choose a specific section as part of the lesson. But in Math, you cannot study algebra without first mastering the four basic mathematical operations. Given this situation, it is easy to understand why some children who failed to master basic concepts find it hard to learn higher math concepts, and, as a consequence, they tend to develop math anxiety.
3.Like a foreign language, math must be practiced daily to retain your skills.
There are other reasons why math is very different from other subjects. But for sure, many children around the world have to grapple with the numbers and concepts that seem like undecipherable codes. Math anxiety has become so serious that some academicians believe it is one of the causes for school dropouts. They said that once the student who is struggling with math feels utterly frustrated in learning the concepts and processes. that student may conclude that going to school is futile. In fact, test anxiety is often linked to the fear of failing math or the fear of actually having to try to solve a mathematical problem. When a student fails to study or does not prepare sufficiently for an examination, nervousness and helplessness sets in. But for a student who suffers from math anxiety, preparing for the examination is already considered mission impossible since he cannot even learn the basic lessons. The only conclusion he can make is that he will fail the math exam --- again. Clearly, it can be expected that a student suffering from math anxiety would almost always show signs of test anxiety.
Now, what can we actually do to help children cope with math anxiety?

The first step is to recognize that math anxiety is an emotional response. It is not a permanent condition.
The second step is to know that certain myths and misconceptions have actually reinforced poor math performance. One such misconception is that a student can only be good either in language or in math, and not at both fields of study. A student who performs well in English grammar class may be a dunce at arithmetic, while a good math student would surely stammer during a poetry class. Education experts say that nothing can be farther from the truth. They insist that if schooled well, children can be good in languages and in numbers. They say that a good foundation in arithmetic is necessary to do well in higher level of mathematics. Academicians are also careful to add that teachers play a major role in developing a healthy and positive regard for studying math. If children experience repeated frustration and failure in learning math, it may be the teacher factor that is causing the anxiety and inability to learn. Good math teachers are necessary to make the subject more interesting and rewarding for the students. The third and most obvious step is to buckle down to work and try to learn math from the very beginning. As mentioned earlier, it entails a linear, progressive mastery of concepts and processes. As in all things in life, mathematics, too, must be learned one step at a time.

Bachelor Party Fun with Strip

If you are interested in having a bachelor party, you should look into Chicago black strippers, nude waitresses and Latin exotic dancers. You should look at different bachelor party ideas and know a little bit about a bachelor party. A bachelor party is a party held for a bachelor shortly before he enters marriage, to make the most of his final opportunity to engage in activities a new wife might not approve of, or merely to spend time bonding with his male friends.

The history of bachelor party probably originated with a bachelor dinner that was traditional in ancient Sparta where soldiers would toast each other on the eve of a friends wedding. They might not have had exotic dancers, but you never know.

A bachelor party could involve activities beyond the usual party and social gathering ingredients such as going to a strip club, hiring a female stripper or escort, and in some traditions more hazing tests and pranks at the future groom's expense, which shows the whole thing is also a rite of passage from bachelorhood to adult life.

If you are the best man, keep in mind that organizing a bachelor party is often traditionally assigned to a male sibling of the bachelor or to the best man; otherwise any male friend will organize it.

It has become common for a similar party to be held for the bride-to-be. This is known as a bachelorette party or hen night. A tame version is the so-called Stag and Doe party, in which both the bride and groom go.

Bachelor parties are different everywhere, which is why you might enjoy Latin exotic dancers or Chicagoland strippers any other ethnicity for your bachelor party. For example, in the United Kingdom it is now common for the party to last for more than one evening, hence the increasing prevalence of the phrase stag weekend.

Additionally, in the UK, stag weekend trips are becoming mini-holidays with the groups taking part in various day time activities as well as the expected night out on the town and the inevitable strippers. A few known UK destinations include Blackpool, Brighton, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Nottingham and Edinburgh. There is now a growing trend for stags to go abroad, with Krakow, Dublin and Riga topping the list, followed by Prague, Vilnius, Amsterdam and Maastricht.

Canadian cities such as Montreal or Vancouver are popular bachelor party destinations due to their large number of strip clubs with lap-dancing. The lady equivalent of a stag party in Canada is often known as a "stagette" or "doe." Although they have different words for exotic dancers, strip is strip.

In Malta, the bachelor's male friends frequently take the bachelor out and get him drunk, then treat him to a night of friendly fun.

The Origin Of Handbags

The renowned scientist, Charles Darwin, once wrote a book called "The Origin Of Species". This book describes natural selection, the process of changing over time by which different species can evolve. In effect, he describes the history of every species, in one book- generalized.

I'm sure you know all this. But what you may not have thought about is that there are other things, besides species, that follow a general pattern of evolution. Like handbags, for instance. Or more precisely, the companies that design them. I think that every handbag designer follows a very simple patter of life, and that's what I'm here to present. So take a look, and think about it.

Begin with a dream. Most of the major labels, such as Chloe, Fendi, or Krizia began with a single woman opening a shop. Of course, not every major label begins this way. Gucci, for example, began with a man opening a shop. Sometimes they sell clothing, sometimes not, but inevitably the founder discovers a sense of fashion.

In short order, the soon-to-be-famous designer begins showing their work, opening a shop and displaying their designs to the world. Sometimes they get married, sometimes not, but in either case this opening is only the beginning. Strong persistence and a good head for business lead to a rapid rise.

Although they may struggle in the beginning, as Guess did to get their jeans in stock, or are as instantly successful as Ralph Laurens ties, as soon as the public discovers their unique and stunning fashion they very quickly become famous. The founder of the company lives to see their brand recognized internationally, and very soon decides to expand.

This is where the handbag arises. The label, having now reached some degree of renown, begins to expand... perfumes are created, new fashions conceived, and they begin to sell handbags. Each label develops a distinctive look, to match their previous clothing design, and their handbags enter shops.

Whatever style you particularly favour, be it the elegance of Prada or the class of Diego Rocha, you can hardly argue that they are very different, and convey a unique impression. Everyone needs to wear clothes, but handbags are optional, and so are open for whatever incredible inventiveness the artist can devise.

Eventually, the founder of the label passes away, and control of the company goes to their children. Sometimes, as did Aldo and Rudolfo Gucci, they fight for control. In other cases, like the descendants of Adele Fendi, they cooperate and work together. Whatever happens, the label itself always stays within the family, and they watch as sales soar.

Finally, the meteoric rise to the top slows to a halt, with numerous awards and international recognition. The label is now famous, and the creative genius of the founder has been recognizes and continued. Look, for example, at Roberto Cavalli - can any other designer claim near his success?

This brings me to the end of my article, and my general description of the evolution of the labels behind the handbags. I hope I've entertained you, and possible even educated you slightly, but in any case I leave you with a question to ponder- is there anything else, that follows a similarly general pattern?

Visit Galicia Visit the Walls of Lugo

Lugo is a city in north-western Spain in the autonomous region known as Galicia. It is the capital of the province of Galicia and in the last census in 2005 had a population of 92,271.

The really interesting thing about Lugo is that as a town it has the privilege of being the only known town in mainland Europe surrounded by a complete and intact set of fortress wall was that have existed since Roman times.

The walls of Lugo were erected in the third century A.D. and have been proved, were built to last. Some 1700 years later and here we are all talking about how good they still look so the engineers in 300 AD must have had some idea of the plot and known what they were doing.

As has been mentioned these walls are pretty substantial and extend to a combined length of over 2 km ride around the centre of the town at the height of some 10 metres. These third century Roman walls have been designated as a world heritage site by UNESCO.

Lugo was founded in 15 B.C. as Lucus Augusti, named after the then Roman Emperor Augustus. The town was probably built on the site of the old Celtic town which had existed for several hundreds of years and probably founded by the Celts of the Cult of Lugh.

Lucus had quite an important role at the time in that it was situated in what was called by the Romans the province of Hispania Tarraconensis. The administrative capital of this province at the time was in distant Tarragona so Lugo had an important local administrative role and rapidly became the most important town of its day in what became known as Gallaccia during the period of Roman occupation.

The city was the seat of a bishopric in the late 5th Century AD and even when the rest of Spain fell under the rule of the Suebi and Visigoths in later centuries in what was euphemistically known throughout Europe as the Dark Ages Lucus remained an administrative centre.

For a small town it has always been used to punching well above its weight so to speak and the establishment of a Cathedral within its town walls only added to this appearance. The Cathedral, dedicated to St Froilano was started in around 1129 though the main faade and towers actually date from around 1769.

The Diocese of Lugo (Lucensis in Latin) covers the entire province of Lugo and also part of Pontevedra and Corunna within Galicia.

Elsewhere in Lugo the Museo Provincial which shows displays of Galician Art, the Palace of the Arts (Circulo de las Artes) and Spain Square (the site of many cafes) are all well worth a visit.

Definitely not to be missed.

Mold Remediation Gives You A Tax Deduction

Did you know that if you are a landlord or a homeowner and you have to have mold removed from your home, it is tax deductible? It qualifies as a repair that has to be done to protect the investment of your home.

The costs that you will incur from removing mold from your home or your business can be quite great, depending on the size of the infection. Sometimes a quarter, half, or even a whole wall or more has to be removed, not to mention the cost of the chemicals and personal protection equipment necessary to do the job safely.

The IRS has concluded that the cost of mold removal and remediation are tax deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. This is a requirement that must be met before something can be deducted as a business expense: it must be both ordinary and necessary.

Renovations that increase the value of a home or other building cannot be counted as business expenses, but the removal of mold is necessary because the health of the workers and anyone else in the building will be affected, thus affecting the flow of cash into the business. Mold remediation does not add value to the property, so it is fine to count it as tax deductible at the end of the year, even if it is not a business that is being treated. Unfortunately, if the mold remediation is the part of a renovation plan that includes the entire property, then the cost is required to be capitalized instead of deducted from your taxes at the end of the year.

So, just what is deductible? If you hire a professional service to do it for you, then the total of whatever they billed you after the project was completed is what you would write down as your deduction at the end of the year. Also, any building materials that you have to purchase after the mold removal are tax deductible, as well. These are necessary to complete the repairs.

It is also possible any relocation expenses that you or your family might incur while the mold remediation is taking place may be deductible, as well. Contact whoever prepares your taxes for you and ask them if it may be deductible.

If you play your cards right, you should be able to deduct most of the cost of your mold remediation, as long as it is not part of a larger renovation of the property.

There Are Many Colon Cleaners That Will Give You a Great Result

Have you ever considered trying a colon cleanse? It's probably not something you think about like trying a new restaurant or trying to get to Disneyworld this year. But the truth is that you should spend more time thinking about the topics of colon cleaners and colon health. If you've never tried a natural colon cleanse, you'll be amazed at how much better you feel afterwards. The good news is that there are many colon cleaners that will give you a great result.

A poorly functioning colon is a fairly widespread condition in many developed countries like the United States. People tend to eat way too many processed foods and don't include enough natural choices in their diet. In addition, most people don't get enough fiber, nor do they drink enough water. The consequence is usually a sluggish colon lined with old fecal matter. A natural colon cleanse can remove this left behind waste and restore your digestive system to complete effectiveness.

Several different types of products are available for a natural colon cleanse. If you're lucky enough to have a local alternative health care or natural foods store, they will probably carry many of these natural colon cleaners. You may wish to shop online for colon cleaners, either for the sake of convenience or because you're embarrassed to purchase products connected with your colon and bowel movements. Although there's really no need for embarrassment, it's perfectly understandable. Just make sure that you purchase your natural colon cleaners from a reputable Internet company. You don't want to make your health worse by purchasing substandard products.

Colon cleaners that will give you a great result include oxygen-based products and herbal products. Another choice for colon cleansing is the use of colon hydrotherapy or colonics. The alternative health community often recommends the use of oxygen-based colon cleaners because they are capable of removing unwanted bacteria without harming the good bacteria that you need in your colon. Oxygen-based colon cleaners work throughout your entire digestive tract, not just your colon.

Herbal-based colon cleaners tend to be a little gentler on your system and a little slower to work. But the end result is still just as beneficial. Most natural herbal colon cleaners include high-quality natural fiber to accomplish the removal of old fecal matter from your colon walls. Most formulations also have herbs to attack parasites, just in case you happen to be harboring any intestinal worms or parasites in your colon. This may not be a problem if you haven't traveled extensively, but you never know what you can pick up sometimes.

Colon hydrotherapy is preferred by some. It's actually like an enema, but uses purified water or other natural liquids. Although there is certainly more to colon hydrotherapy than taking some pills, but it's not harsh in any way and many patients swear by the results.

Colon cleaners can give you a great result, but if you don't change your lifestyle and diet, the benefits of a colon cleanse won't last forever. You should eliminate as many processed foods as possible. Eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables, and drink lots of water and juices. The trick is to increase your fiber as much as possible and also make the nutrients in your food more accessible to your body. Natural, raw food is much better suited to your digestive system. This means that when the food passes from the small intestine to the colon, it will be well-digested and much less likely to clog things up.

Your colon is a key part of your body's solid waste elimination system. Any difficulties, diseases or disorders of the colon will almost always have consequences elsewhere in your body. New research suggests that colon health is even related to liver function and brain function. Who would have thought that an unhealthy colon could actually cause cloudy thinking?

Colon cancer is a dreaded disease that also happens to be the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. A regular colon cleanse and a fiber-rich diet can help to prevent colon cancer. However, even though you'll be preventing a serious illness, if you try colon cleaners just once, you'll be doing it regularly just for how good it makes you feel.

Harnessing the Extraordinary Potential of a MasterMind Group

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote: "The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship." This is an important aspect for a successful mastermind group.

Forming a mastermind group is a powerful way to get ideas and support from others. Most successful groups consist of people who work together in absolute harmony to achieve diverse goals. While your team members will work in harmony, they may be very different from each other.

One common element that will bind your group together is trust. For everyone to receive maximum benefits, a high level of trust must exist. By their very nature, mastermind groups need to be a safe environment where everyone can feel free to talk and share things.

Many problem areas, challenges, needs for healing, and / or other positive desires of each member may be brought to the table. Knowing that whatever is discussed will remain confidential is vital to the continuing success of your group. When you have a trusting environment, a marvelous exchange of ideas can flourish.

As your team gains experience, knowledge of and skill with using the MasterMind principle, you will begin combining your own strengths with that of a Higher Power. Answers and solutions will occur in a most amazing way when such requests are fully and properly made in a spirit of cooperation, harmony and trust.

Through masterminding, we expand our understanding both of our world and of ourselves. Your goal should not be to create a mentor / protege relationship - that will limit your benefits. A relationship where everybody feels they are equals will help keep the doors of communication open so that an exchange of ideas can flourish.

Most groups find greatest benefit when members come from varied professional backgrounds. The diversity of education and experiences can and will help you in achieving far more than you could ever achieve on your own due to the insights and wisdom from the others.

Leveraging the intelligence and real-world experience of the others on your mastermind team combined with their advice, collective support and also accountability to yourself and others will give you the tools you need to overcome any limitations, blockages or challenges you are facing in your life.

Thru the extra-ordinary power of the 'third mind' that develops in a mastermind meeting, many people have found strength and inspiration to break through barriers such as lack of motivation or drive - you can too!

When you have a group of positive, encouraging, successful people on your team, "I can't" attitudes and unwillingness to believe in your own power become things of the past. Your support team will be right there to give you the encouragement and tools you need to reach your goals.

The combination of experience and education of the other members of your team will help you gain insight, awareness and clarity of situations in your life that you had not seen before. You gain high levels of inspiration and knowledge in a Mastermind session. These 'Ah-ha!' moments will help you to be able to burst thru barriers and blocks that have been holding you back.

Research has shown that mastermind groups can help you cultivate leadership and business skills. Thru the synergy and energy that develops in each session, you gain the opportunity to grow into high potential and motivational development. Improvement upon emotional intelligence along with other talents and skills are often coaxed out of members.

Once you have had your breakthrough and 'Ah-ha!' moments, you will find that there is no turning back from this highly-motivated and educational lifestyle. Mastermind will help you change your attitude and enjoy success in business, It will transform your life and to open doors to your future successes.

Your mastermind team will help you keep your focus to accomplish goals, raise your bar ever higher and be able to fully enjoy the fruits of your labor. You will be able to move forward away from boredom, frustration and pain in the past into a brighter future full of success and happiness.

Your foundation for success in a mastermind group will come from the constant flow of energy and ideas. Motivation and inspiration will develop within each group meeting as ideas flow and creativity builds. You will see solutions and possibilities that you have never thought of before.

Keep going - you are on the right path! Today is a great day to enjoy a MasterMind group of your own!
